San Diego’s US Grant Hotel is celebrating its 100th anniversary on October 15 this year. As part of the Centennial Celebration, the hotel is asking visitors to submit their stories about the hotel. Each month through September, the hotel will pick one winning story for a chance to win “An Epicurean Adventure for Two,” which includes round-trip airfare for two, three nights at the US Grant, dinner at the Grant Grill, and a 2.5-hour sailing trip aboard Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup. Check out the stories so far (like the postcard from 1941, above) and submit your own here. Europe and the Middle East were hit hardest, with a six percent drop in international visitors, while Africa’s numbers actually jumped by five percent.
